YOUTH DEPARTMENT NEWS
The Youth Department would like to thank all those who supported the Pancake Breakfast/Project Runway
The next session of the Sewing/Craft Class will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11:30 am.
On Sunday, June 1, 2025, the Youth Department will be having a Bake Sale immediately after church service. Please support the Youth by making a purchase.
On Friday, June 27, 2025 at 7 pm. the Youth Department will be sponsoring the Twenty-fourth Annual Youth Recognition Program. This is an opportunity for parents/guardians and the Good Neighbor Family members to encourage our youth for their accomplishments at home, in church, in sports, academically, etc. Don’t miss this opportunity to be a positive force in the lives of our youth. Applications and a recent picture can be given to Trustee Mary Thomas.
SCHOLARSHIP NEWS
Congratulations to KADAR WILCHER for obtaining the Honor Roll for the 2nd and 3rd quarter marking periods at Newark Tech High School! Keep up the great work KADAR!
Save the date! On Sunday, July 27th we’ll be celebrating our scholars! In lieu of purchasing a ticket for a banquet this year we’re asking members to make a pledge to the scholarship fund to benefit all of the honorees.
Today after service the committee will meet with the applicants to discuss the process for applying this year. We’re asking all potential applicants to join us.

MEN’S AND WOMEN’S DAY CHOIR NEWS
In preparation for Men’s and Women’s Day, 2025, which will take place on Sunday, April 27, 2025, we will have choir rehearsals every Wednesday at 7 p.m. We have three rehearsals left We are inviting all men and women to come out and be a part of this choir.

The Geruth Rountree Scholarship Committee will be hosting a bake sale today after service. We’re asking for your support of our youth.
On Sunday, April 20th the committee will be hosting a bake sale so you can take home a sweet treat for your Easter dinner. If you’d like to request specific items, please see a member of the scholarship committee.
On Sunday, May 4th, the committee will meet with the scholarship applicants to discuss the process for applying this year. We’re asking all potential applicants to join us after service.

PASTORS AIDE NEWS
On Sunday, June 8, 2025 Rev. Blackwell & Leading Lady Blackwell will be celebrating 30 years of Service and Retirement. This celebration of service will convene here at Good Neighbor Baptist Church. The Speaker of the hour will be Rev. Jeffrey Bryan, Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Roselle NJ. Time 10:00 am.
After 30 years of pastoring our beloved Pastor will be retiring. On Friday, June 13, 2025, please join in celebration of our Shepherd Rev. Dr. George A. Blackwell III and Leading Lady Min. B. Helena Blackwell. The Celebration will be held at the Galloping Hill Caterers, located at 325 Chestnut St, Union NJ Time 7:30 pm.

Grand Re-Opening for 2025 is Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Thereafter, open every Wednesday, May - December, 2025 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Free Breakfast 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Free Lunch 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. Also, Games and activities. USHER BOARD/TRUSTEE NEWS
The Usher/Trustee Board is sponsoring a bus ride to Sights and Sound Theater to see “Noah” on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Lunch will be at Golden Corral; Shopping at Farmer’s Market and Tangers Outlet. Tickets are $170.00;Children $105. A Non-Refundable Deposit of $30.00 is due March 10,2025 to secure seat. We have immediate openings for church nurses this position will serve the Pulpit, music ministry and congregation. The hours; One Sunday a month (your choice), & every 1st Sunday.
